EC to Consider Impact of EID on Agricultural Biodiversity (6 November 2009)

Our Chairman David Trotter and the RBST Chairman Tim Brigstocke recently visited Brussels to lobby EU officials on the impact which the implementation of the new sheep EID rules will have on breeds such as ours. A press release summarising the meeting can be found on the RBST website.

The competition generated over 70 entries. After careful consideration the Judge, Mr John Knapton, selected the following as his choices for class and overall winners. A full report will appear in a forthcoming Newsletter. Prizes for the first in each class and overall winners will be sent out shortly.

Congratulations to the winners. Thanks to all who entered and to John for judging. All entries will be considered for the Society 2011 Calendar and many will appear on the website Gallery pages in due course.

Dr Stanley Bowie Award (12 September 2009)

Dr Bowie Award 2009

The inaugural award of the Dr Stanley Bowie Silver Salver for service to the Society was made to Sue Russo for her long and outstanding contribution in promoting the aims of the society and producing our superb newsletter. A stunned but delighted Sue received the trophy from SSS Chairman David Trotter at the AGM on September 12th. Congratulations from all in the Society.

 


National Show and Sale Champion (11 September 2009)

Champion 2009

The Championsip at the Society's National Show and Sale at Melton Mowbray has been won by Chrissie Ringrose with her home-bred fawn katmoget ram Great Moor Vancover.
